URGENT NPG Update: U.S. Birth Rate is Rising!

It appears that America’s birth rate is increasing – for the first time in seven years. A recent article in USA Today highlighted the study, released by the National Center for Health Statistics. Reporter Jennifer Calfas notes:

“The 3.98 million total births in 2014 was the most since 2010.”

According to the article, Carl Haub – a senior demographer at the Population Reference Bureau – said he “wasn’t surprised” by the findings. Haub noted:

“Though the increase in fertility rate is small, it could be indicative of a shifting trend.”

NPG is also unsurprised by the shift in our nation’s fertility trends. We have long warned that America’s population is continuing to grow – and that we urgently need a national population policy to slow, halt, and eventually reverse that growth!

If we do not drastically reduce immigration levels, and greatly increase voluntary incentives for smaller family sizes, we will continue to see U.S. population growth.

NPG is continuing our educational efforts during this critical time: outreach to our nation’s schools to educate and engage young people, a new membership campaign to bring more Americans into our ranks, and influential new NPG Forum papers written by leading experts in the field. So please – let us know that we can count on your continued commitment!

Your generous contribution today will help us maintain our critical momentum as we continue our work to stop population growth, and goes directly towards our work for reasonable, responsible national policies – policies designed to reduce U.S. population to a sustainable level and preserve the American dream for future generations!

Please help us today by giving a generous contribution to NPG.

Your gift will help our critical mission to preserve a livable America for future generations!

There is no remedy that can possibly avert disastrous Climate Change and Global Warming unless we first address the problem of world population size and growth, and its impact on the size of the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. That means that we need to address the population size and growth of each nation, which together make up the world total.

World population, now over 7.3 billion, is predicted to rise to 9 billion by 2050, an increase of almost two billion, or 23%, in the short space of only 34 years from now.In the highly unlikely event that per capita greenhouse gas emissions could possibly be decreased by an equal percentage in such a short space of time (a blink of an eye) the total amount of worldwide emission would remain the same!

From this simple illustration it would appear that without drastically reducing the size of world population, there is no solution to the problem.None at all.So then why do our world leaders pretend that there is one? What is to be gained by pretending rather than by proposing a solution that would solve the problem – a reduction in the size of world population to not more than 1- 2 billion?
