No matter how much we deplore it, or fight it, it is almost certain that, if we allow our population to continue to grow, our demand for energy will undoubtedly grow as well. Coal burning power plants will continue to supply the bulk of our electricity as evidenced in a recent New York Times article. The growth of our demand for energy is driven primarily, not by growth in per capita consumption, but by the growth of our already far too large U.S. population, which, in turn, is driven by mass immigration, both legal and illegal.
We desperately need a national energy policy with the goal of reducing our demand for energy to a sustainable level. That goal can only be achieved by gradually reducing the size of our U.S. population to a sustainable level, which we believe would be not more than 150 million, as opposed to our today's rapidly growing population over double that size. For more information, please review NPG's Proposed National Population Policy.
